Shortly before 11 PM, Tuesday, July 21st two unidentified suspects entered the residence at 2411 Gillis Street. The suspects were wearing masks and brandishing hand guns. The residence was occupied by Marcus Givens, age 30, his girlfriend, Amanda Hines and an 8 year old child. Ms. Hines was forced to retrieve an undisclosed amount of money from another room. During the robbery, one of the suspects shot Mr. Givens. After getting the money, the suspects fled from the residence on foot. It is suspected that they got into a dark colored vehicle and fled the area.

The suspects were described as black males, estimated to be in their twenties, 5 feet 10 inches to six feet tall. One suspect wore a white shirt, dark pants and had what appeared to be a black ski mask covering his face. The second suspect had on what was described as a red shirt, dark pants and had a red and black mask of some type over his face.

We regretfully report that during the evening hours of Friday, July 25th, Mr. Givens passed away due to the injuries sustained from that gunshot wound.
